Florence Crossthwaite

In loving memory of Florence Crossthwaite (nee Legault) who passed away at Health Sciences North in Sudbury on Monday, June 6th, 2016 at the age of 91 years. Beloved wife of the late John Crossthwaite (predeceased February 26, 2016). Loving mother of the late Rita Smith (surviving husband Frank Smith of Powassan), the late Tom Jarbeau, Therese Lane (husband Larry) of McKerow, Sandra (Crossthwaite) Beaudry (late husband Brian) of Garson and Dan Crossthwaite (wife Lori) of Sudbury. Dear grandmother of Danny, Brenda, Shane, Brian, Lori, Debbie, Darren, Steven, Jamie, Tony, Lisa, Sierra, Savannah, Sabrina and Daniel. She also leaves behind several great-grandchildren. Loving sister of Cecile St-Georges of Temiskaming, the late Agnes "Babe" Montreuil, the late Pauline Laberge (husband Charlie deceased), the late Margaret "Dode" Dobratz, the late Mona Roy (husband Roger deceased), Paul Legault of Verner and the late Wayne Legault (surviving wife Chantal of Toronto). Florence was born on May 25, 1925. She had been a resident of Sudbury for nearly 50 years. She was a past volunteer at Pioneer Manor and a former member of the prayer group at St-Dominique's Church. Spending time with her family was very important to her and brought much joy to her life. She will be remembered as a great cook and baker, especially for her famous apple pies. Listening to music and crochet were also some of her favourite pastimes. As per his wishes, there will be no visitation. A funeral mass, to celebrate the lives of John and Florence, will take place at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Burk's Falls on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside prayers will follow at the Burk's Falls Cemetery.
