George Whitman photo

Thanks to Jamie Dupuis for allowing us to share his gift of music

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of George Robert Whitman in his 79th year after a courageous battle with cancer. George passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, June 4th, 2018 at Health Sciences North in Sudbury. George shared 37 years of his life with his beloved wife, partner, companion and best friend Monique (née Lamothe). George was born in Yarmouth Nova Scotia and is predeceased by his parents George and Ruby Whitman. He will be greatly missed by his children Ron (Sylvia), Kelley (Campbell), Tracey (Joe) and Kim (Enrick). His grandchildren Loni, Ashlee, Zachary, Nathan, Grant, Kelsey, Brielle and Jakob. His great-grandchildren Jaxon and Olivia. George will always be remembered by his brothers Ronald and Ross and his sister Barb who still reside in Nova Scotia. After an extremely successful 36 years with INCO, he and Monique spent their time playing golf, travelling and relaxing at their trailer on Manitoulin Island. He also loved to spend time cuddling with his fur babies Tootsy, Cheri and Mitsy. The family would like to invite his many friends and colleagues to join them in a celebration of his life on Sunday, June 10th, 2018 from 2-6 pm at 328 Autumnwood Crescent in Sudbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s name to the Northern Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Cremation arrangements in care of Simple Wishes of the North. (705) 470-7070
