Grant Shaw _ 2

Thanks to Jamie Dupuis for allowing us to share his gift of music

In loving memory of Grant Shaw who passed away at Health Sciences North in Sudbury on Tuesday, February 7th, 2017 at the age of 68 years. Loving father of Brenda Bertrim (husband Delbert) of Trout Lake, Lorna Shaw (husband Garry) of Australia and Terry Shaw (wife Janice Hurley) of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather of Julie, Halle, John, Tristan, Bryson and Lauren. Dear brother of Claude and Wayne Shaw, both predeceased. Grant was born in Sudbury on February 29th 1948, son of Beatrice and Lorne Shaw, both predeceased. For over 25 years, Grant worked as a police officer with the Sudbury Regional Police and retired in the late 1990’s. Spending time during the summer months at Trout Lake and the winter months in Florida brought great joy his life. He loved being involved with many charities and was always willing to help anyone in need. Some of his favourite pastimes were fishing, hunting, swimming, golfing and snowmobiling. Grant will be remembered as an individual with a great sense of humour and would be described by many as a real social butterfly. He touched the lives of so many people and will be missed by all who knew him. As per his wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation at Lakeview Crematorium. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date. Donations, in Grant’s memory, may be made to the Northern Cancer Foundation and would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements in care of Simple Wishes of the North. (705) 470-7070

Working with Grant so many years ago as a new Officer to the force was always made pleasant with his sense of humour both on and off the job…something he maintained though out his life. My wish for the family is that, your memories will sustain you all through this time of great loss. My sincere condolences at the loss of a wonderful man that I am proud to have known.

It is hard to believe. I just talked with him last week. He will always be one of the crew that I will never forget.
He live and played hard. Even at 68 he had a full life. Many would love to have had the life he
    lived.
