Harold, 83 years of age, passed on Wednesday, May 23rd 2018 at Maison McCulloch Hospice. Harold was born February 10, 1935 in Harrington, Quebec. He was the middle child of Duncan and Violet, brother of Gerald (predeceased), Hilda (predeceased), Linda and Sadie. Harold married his childhood sweetheart Sylvia in 1955 and they were about to celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary next week. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his five children: Valerie (Robert), Shelly (Paul), Julie (Nick), Jeff (Jocelyn) and Greg (Valerie) and his grandchildren Liam, Erik, Briana, Samantha, Brittany, Christopher, Kayla, Madison, Morgan and Benjamin. Harold was a miner and worked in Kilmar PQ, Manitouwadge ON, Bancroft ON, and Elliot Lake ON before moving to Lively last year. He also had a strong entrepreneurial spirit, owning a small dairy farm in Quebec, and later in his life owning MacCullough’s Mini Golf in Elliot Lake. Harold and Sylvia retired in Elliot Lake where they enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, playing cards, and spending time with neighbors and family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 26th, 2018 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Meadowbrook Retirement Village in Lively, ON. The family greatly appreciated the care and comfort Harold received from staff and volunteers at the hospice. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Maison McCulloch Hospice.
