Jake Withers

In loving memory of Gerald "Jake" Withers who passed away at Health Sciences North in Sudbury on Friday, June 24th, 2016 at the age of 80 years. Beloved husband of the late Leona (predeceased 1997). Loving father of Brenda Withers (Dan Willoughby) and Gary Withers, all of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather of Clinton Withers, Ryan Martin and Lee-James Horsfall and great-grandfather of Emma Walford. Dear brother of Doug Withers (wife Rose predeceased) of Espanola, Wayne Withers of Foleyet and Dennis Withers (wife Inez) of Val Caron. He also leaves behind his nephews Richard, Allen and Raymond and his niece Sherry. Jake was born in Sudbury on October 30th, 1935, the son of Emerson and Mary, both predeceased. For over 20 years, he worked at INCO. He will be remembered as a man who loved the great outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. As per his wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation at Park Lawn Crematorium. A memorial service, to celebrate Jake's life, will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 76 (1553 Weller St. in Sudbury) on Thursday, June 30th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may gather at the Legion after 10:30 a.m. that day. Donations to the Vale Hospice or The Walford Residence in Sudbury would be greatly appreciated.
