Thanks to Jamie Dupuis for allowing us to share his gift of music

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our most amazing and loving Mom, Mamie, Grande-Mamie, sister, sister-in-law and aunt.  Jeanne d’Arc Legault (née Laverdière), 91 years young, passed away peacefully on Friday November 16th, 2018 surrounded by her family.  Jeanne was an incredibly loving, independent and resourceful woman who’s greatest joy was cooking for her family and friends.  Her meals were so delicious that copies of her many recipes are still in high demand.  She loved music and dancing and also enjoyed spending time doing puzzles or watching her favourite sports and game shows on tv.  Staying current on world events was her only way of fulfilling her adventurous spirit until later in life she discovered the fun she could have driving an electric scooter all around the city!  This still held true more recently, when she enjoyed roaming the corridors of Pioneer Manor in her wheelchair.  Her most remarkable and lasting legacy however, is that despite the numerous challenges she faced in her own life, she always demonstrated overwhelming generosity, forgiveness and acceptance towards everyone regardless of their situation or circumstance.  Her love for every one of us was boundless and unwavering.  She is the best part of us and we will miss her terribly.  Jeanne was born in Gould, Quebec to her late parents Antonio Laverdière and Marie-Anne Bouffard.  Loving mother of Jocelyne Lacelle (Laurent), Maurice, Liliane Wright-Templeton (late Gerard), Gerald (Debbie), Conrad, Michel, Guy and Claude.  She is also survived by her 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, her brothers Guy (Fernande), Jean-Luc (Rachel), her sister-in-law Yvette and many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her siblings Clément, Bibiane Arcand, Paul, Léandre, Gilles, Cécile Larose.  The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses, p.s.w’s, dining room staff and her hair stylist at Pioneer Manor for their love, care and compassion.  In keeping with Jeanne’s wishes, there will be no visitation.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  If so desired, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family and can be made by cheque or online @ ‪ image001
