It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of Joan Martin (nee Boudreau) on Saturday, January 21st, 2017 at the age of 69 years. Beloved wife of Bob Martin of Sudbury. Loving mother of Dana Campeau (husband Ian) of Sudbury and Jenn Martin of Sudbury. Cherished Nana of Chloe and Ty. Joan was born in Rouyn-Noranda on July 16, 1947, daughter of Marion and Leo Boudreau (both predeceased). She spent most of her life in the Sudbury area but also resided on Manitoulin Island with Bob living out their dream for 11 years. Her greatest pride and achievements were her girls and grandkids. Her passions included family, reading, music, spending time on the water, but most of all spending summer days outside by the pool with her best friend and love of her life, Bobbie. Joan will be remembered as a loving, compassionate and gentle individual who always put others first. She was a special friend and second Mom to so many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. As per her wishes, there will be no public visitation. Cremation at Lakeview Crematorium. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, in honour of her granddaughter, would be greatly appreciated by the family. A celebration of Joan's life will be held on Saturday, January 28th, 2017 at the Lockerby Legion at 2200 Long Lake Road. Friends and family are welcome to join in honouring this amazing lady from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Arrangements in care of Simple Wishes of the North. (705) 470-7070
