Lawrence Lapointe

In loving memory of Lawrence Lapointe who passed away at Health Sciences North in Sudbury on Wednesday, November 9th, 2016 at the age of 71 years. Beloved husband of Diane (nee Dugas) of Val Caron. Loving father of Kristine Lapointe (Tina) of Sudbury and Laurie Zahra (Ed) of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather of Adam and Brayden. Dear brother of Effie Skakoon (Edward predeceased) of Val Caron, Harold Lapointe (Cindy) of Azilda, Viola Lachance (Richard) of Val Caron, Dyana Lapointe of Sudbury and Jackie Ricker (Terry) of Val Caron. He was predeceased by his brother Walter (surviving wife Denise of Sudbury) and by his sisters Myra Lapointe, Joanne Rossi (surviving husband Pat of Sudbury) and Rita at an early age. Lawrence was born in New Brunswick on January 4th, 1945, son of Walter and Yvonne (both predeceased). He and his family relocated to the Sudbury area when he was a young child. For 30 years, he worked as a miner for Falconbridge and retired in 1994. Lawrence will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul. He loved spending time with his grandsons who were the light of his life. Socializing with his dear friends at Tim Horton's also brought great joy to his life, especially with Mike Connors (wife Renelle). As per his wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation at Lakeview Crematorium. A memorial mass, to celebrate Lawrence's life, will take place at St. Kevin's Church in Val Therese on Tuesday, November 15th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Northern Cancer Foundation, in his memory, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
