Leon Aube photo

Thanks to Jamie Dupuis for allowing us to share his gift of music

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Léon Aubé at the Timmins and District Hospital on Friday, May 25th, 2018 at the age of 68 years. Beloved husband of Denise (née Laviolette) of Timmins. Loving and proud father of Stéphane Aubé (wife Katherine) of Sudbury, Tania Aubé of Winnipeg and Chantal Aubé (husband Randy Samuels) of Saskatoon. Cherished “Pépé” of Rylan, Bryston, Cullen, Raeyale and Nadège. Dear brother of Gisèle Bellavance (Claude), Bertrand (Viola), Raymond (Rita), Réjean (Emesh), Jean-Noël “Tibi” (Thérèse) and Robert (Jessie). Predeceased by his brother Marc (surviving wife Evelyne) and his parents Georgette and Maurice. He will also be dearly missed by numerous nieces, nephews and many close friends. Léon was born in La Sarre QC on March 19th 1950, raised in Chapleau and moved to Timmins with his family at the age of 17. For over 30 years, he worked as a miner at the Dome Mine. Some of his favourite pastimes included fishing, camping, travelling, playing cards, watching hockey and going out for coffee but above all, it was spending time with his family that brought him the greatest joy in life. Léon will be remembered as a real social butterfly who was extremely loving, caring and giving. Léon was always willing to help anyone in need and never expected anything in return. This is what made him so special. He had a big heart and a smile to match that we will never forget. We are devastated by his loss but are thankful for the wonderful memories that he has left us with to take comfort in. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home in Timmins on Friday, June 1st, 2018 from 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St-Dominique’s Church on Saturday, June 2nd, 2018 at 11 a.m.. Cremation to follow. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association, in Léon’s memory, would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements in care of Simple Wishes of the North. (705) 470-7070
