It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our mother Loretta Minor (nee Dureau) on August 14, 2018 in Sudbury, Ontario at the age of 86. She joins her husband Nelson Minor, who passed away in the winter of 1995. She will be greatly missed by her three beloved children,Wayne Minor (Diane), Nancy Dow (Greg), and Darlene Soontiens (Dwayne) and her grandchildren, Joey, Shannon, Leah (Andreas), Bobby (Cristin), Brianna (Ryan), Andrew (Samantha) and Mathew (Jocelyn), and all of her cherished great-grandchildren. Loretta will be missed by her sister Anita Martel and Ada Dumas, as well as her many nieces and nephews and god-daughter Diane Martel. She is predeceased by her parents, Annette and Emilien Dureau, and her brothers Johnny and Elie Dureau. Loretta never wanted to miss a party and was always up for cards or a game of tock. She loved to dance, play golf, and travel. She was fortunate to spend the last five winters in Florida with her family and good friends, a time with her loved ones that she was especially grateful for. Special thanks to her medical team, especially Dr. Pun and Janice Romanko (Northeast Cancer Centre), Tracy, her in-home palliative nurse, as well as Dr. Walton (HSN Palliative Care Services). A special thank you to Kerry Pullkinen, whom Loretta considered as her third daughter and who was instrumental in her ongoing medical care. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday August 18th, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Parish, 1887 Bancroft Drive, Sudbury, Ontario. In lieu of flowers in memoriam donations can be made to Maison McCulloch Hospice (maisonsudburyhospice.org) or Northern Cancer Foundation (www.ncfsudbury.com)
