Rita Zettler Obituary

In loving memory of Rita Zettler (nee Robert) who passed away at the Elizabeth Centre in Val Caron on Saturday, May 6th, 2017 in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Ed Zettler (predeceased 1975). Loving mother of Rob Zettler (wife Louise Glover) of Sudbury and Lorraine Zettler (late husband Murray Booth) of Prince George, British Columbia. Cherished Grandmaman of Shannon Booth, Darren Booth, Jackson Zettler (Joanne), Fredrik Zettler (Jen Scott) and Bradley Norquay and great-Grandmaman to Aislynn, Conorr and Elliot. Dear sister of Sr. Dolores Robert, Armand "Pit" (Jocelyne), Marcell, Sr. Jocelyne Robert and Conrad (late wife Claudette). Predeceased by her sisters Irene, Fleurette, Claudette and Pauline and by her brothers Albert and Robert. Rita was born in Foleyet on May 10th, 1922 to parents Berthe and Jocelyn. After growing up in Foleyet, she moved to the Sudbury area as a young adult and married Ed. For about 20 years, Rita worked for Canada Post. She was a past member of the CWL at Christ the King Church in Sudbury and also in Elliot Lake. In her healthier years, she enjoyed travelling the world, spending time at camp enjoying the great outdoors, long walks, skating and crossword puzzles. She will be remembered as a very caring family member, someone who was smart and had a great memory. She was often referred to as a walking encyclopedia of family history. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation at Lakeview Crematorium. A celebration of her life will take place at Christ the King Church (Beech St. in Sudbury) on Saturday, May 13th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends may gather at the church after 9:30 a.m. Burial prayers will follow at the Lasalle Cemetery. In Rita's memory, donations to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by her family. Arrangements in care of Simple Wishes of the North. (705) 470-7070
