Thanks to Jamie Dupuis for allowing us to share his gift of music

It is with profound sadness that the family of Shirley Ella Tryon announces her passing after a courageous battle with cancer, on May 10th 2018 at the Maison McCulloch Hospice in Sudbury at the age of 78 years. She will be sadly missed by her children Jeff Tryon (wife Susan) and Cindy Kohan (husband Glenn). Cherished “Nana” to grandchildren Zack (fiancé Danika Johannsen), Sarah (friend Josh Duncan), Alex (friend Kendra Liinamaa) and Stacie. Loving wife of James Tryon (predeceased 2002). Shirley believed in the simple beauties of life and found pleasure tending to her home, flowers and family. She will be sorely missed by all those whose lives she touched. She loved spending time outdoors. Many memories were made by many enjoying Nana’s pool and being spoiled with poolside picnics. A special thank you to the staff at the Northeast Cancer Centre and to the Maison McCulloch Hospice for their attentive care and compassion. Sincere appreciation to Dr. Yves Charette (City of Lakes Family Health Team) for his exceptional care and concern. Shirley found great comfort in his care. At Shirley’s request, there will be no visitation. A private committal service will take place at the Civic Memorial Cemetery. Donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice, in Shirley’s memory, would be greatly appreciated. “Love is how you stay alive, even after you are gone”. Cremation arrangements in care of Simple Wishes of the North. (705) 470-7070

We are sad to hear the news of Shirley’s passing. My children definitely enjoyed many summer afternoon swims in her pool and BBQ at her house. We always felt so welcome in her home. She was truly a kind, caring, considerate and loving lady.
Sending our sincere condolences and prayers for the family.

    Dear Cin, Glenn, & Stacie,
We want to send our sincerest condolences and want you to know that we share in your grief at this difficult time.
Mrs. “T” has always been a very special lady who has been part of all of our lives, even from a distance. We will always remember her thoughtfulness and curiosity, as well as her infectious laugh. She was always a great listener who gave her undivided attention and was a “mom” to many! We are thankful to have had her in our lives and will cherish many special memories. Our hugs and love to all of you & your family,
    Tam, Rod, Justin and Evan
