Yvonne Whitehead

In loving memory of Yvonne Whitehead who passed away at Finlandia Nursing Home in Sudbury on Saturday, January 7th, 2017 at the age of 78 years. Beloved mother of Bill Whitehead (wife Debbie), Lori Whitehead and John Whitehead (wife Marie), all of Sudbury. Cherished Granny of Lindsey (Scott), Micky (Andrew), Tyler, Jake and Max and great-granddaughter Evelyn Yvonne. She was predeceased by her brother Maurice Lauriault (surviving wife Rolleen of Hanover). Yvonne was born in Espanola on December 19th 1938, daughter of Alice and Omer Lauriault (both predeceased). In her younger years, Yvonne was an avid curler having won many bonspiels. She enjoyed travelling and loved animals and children. She will be remembered as a loving, social, very giving and unselfish individual who enjoyed being surrounded by her family, especially by her grandchildren. Words cannot express the genuine heartfelt love shown, as well as extraordinary care the staff of Finlandia provided to our mother. Also, the compassion we were shown by the staff during this difficult time was exceptional and very much appreciated. As per her wishes, there will be no visitation. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations to the Alzheimer's Society (Sudbury-Manitoulin), in Yvonne's memory, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
